Not to say I don’t love baby boys, but little girls are just the best. I love the lace, the bows, the headbands … they are just so much fun. Oh! And did I mention that one of the perks of photographing a newborn (besides getting to take fabulous pictures which always makes my heart sing), is that I also get to help snuggle and rock the baby? Oh, and help pick out the cutest outfits! But, even more than that, I love being able to witness the love a new baby brings into a family. This particular session had so much love and as a first baby, she brought so many memories back of being a first-time parent myself. Those feelings of overwhelming love, joy, pride, and maybe, for me at least, a touch of fear and awe…maybe even a little disbelief in just how perfect and beautiful your baby is. Its beautiful to experience yourself as well as to see in others. This little one’s Momma sang to her so softly, so sweetly as she rocked her … I could feel her love for her baby. It touched my heart. And, even though a newborn session is mostly about the baby … I also want to capture this new relationship, this new profound love, not just a baby, but a daughter and a family.

About this Session

This little girl was 14 days new. Newborn sessions are completed within the first 2 weeks of the baby’s birth. This helps to ensure they are still “sleepy” so we can get some of those cute little posed pictures. These turned out beautiful …
